The Japanese manufacturer’s FDTC cassette air conditioning system was awarded the prestigious European Gold Award for Design GOLDEN A’ DESIGN AWARD in the category “Engineering and Technical Design”
The compact air conditioning system of the FDTC cassette type, whose unique design was created by the German industrial design company Zweigrad GmbH and Co. KG, provides dynamic cooling and heating for a variety of applications. With its low operating costs and high energy efficiency, the attractive air conditioning system, with a draft prevention panel, offers exceptional comfort for end users. Advanced engineering features and new design provide flexibility and comfort at offices and commercial buildings, as well as recreation and entertainment sites.
The award is a great recognition of MITSUBISHI HEAVY INDUSTRIES’ leading position in the air conditioning market and strengthens the manufacturer’s leadership after winning the Silver A’ Design Award for the SRK-ZSX air-conditioning series in 2017-2018.

The award ceremony will take place on June 28, 2019, at the Teatro Sociale Como in Como, Italy.
MITSUBISHI HEAVY INDUSTRIES’ FDTC series
The four-way compact suspended ceiling cassettes from the FDTC series are a new addition to the product line of commercial split systems. In addition to the new panel design, the new models are the thinnest and lightest in the industry. The FDTC series is available in a product line of models with powers from 2.5 to 6.0 kW. The FDTC models feature an inlet air panel with a cellular structure with hexagonal shapes and flat exhaust air valves, which contributes to exceptional functionality combined with a stylish attractive look.
The FDTC cassette air conditioning system is the thinnest in the industry – only 248 mm high, and can be installed even in confined spaces on suspended ceilings. These are also the lightest cartridges in the industry, weighing only 14 kg, which greatly simplifies installation.
All models in the FDTC series are available as standard with MHI’s patented “AirFlex” technology, which prevents the sensation of drafts that are usually received from the air stream directed straight at people. The new FDTC models also feature a sensor that detects human presence and activity levels, allowing for optimal comfort and energy savings.
